A fundamental concept of watershed protection is cooperation across political jurisdictions in protecting land and water resources. The Watershed Center promotes collaboration on watershed programs with partner resource organizations.  Project partners include local governments, area businesses and business associations, neighborhood associations, citizen groups,  environmental and conservation organizations, educational institutions and many others.

The Grand Traverse Bay watershed covers nearly 1,000 square miles, major parts of four counties, dozens of municipalities, hundreds of public parcels of land, and thousands of private parcels of land.  It takes all of us working together to protect this magnificent natural resource that is vital to our regional economy and quality of life.
